The Bourgeois Can't Boogie
Verse 1
I had a young friend upset with her romance
She said her new boyfriend he just couldn’t dance
He wouldn’t take her out on the floor
She said she couldn’t take it no more
She broke down and then started to cry
So I had to explain to her why
Chorus
I said
It’s because the bourgeois can’t boogie
If you really think about it how could they
They ain’t got no rhythm, can’t feel the blues
Don’t pay nobody to tell them the news
Verse 2
She just stared at me for a while
Then she grinned and then she started to smile
It all made sense to her now
He couldn’t swing cause he just didn’t know how
No longer perplexed she wasn’t mad
She just felt bad for the lad
Chorus
She said
It’s because the bourgeois can’t boogie
If you really think about it how could they
They ain’t got no rhythm, can’t feel the blues
Don’t pay nobody to tell them the news
Verse 3
So if you find yourself in this situation
Just save yourself the aggravating frustration
They don’t even realize that they are a bore
To even tell them would be just a chore
They would never even know what you mean
They’re so thick it would make you scream
Chorus
Remember
The bourgeois can’t boogie
If you really think about it how could they
They ain’t got no rhythm, can’t feel the blues
Don’t pay nobody to tell them the news
