It’s Not What You Get
Verse 1
It’s got what you get, it’s what you give
It’s not what you own, it’s how you live
You may own a fancy home with an ocean view
And in the backyard a heated swimming pool
But while playing the game of life
You may still be the Joker and a fool
Verse 2
t’s not how you shout, it’s how you sing
It’s not what you take, it’s what you bring
You may own a different car to drive every day
Imagining people admire you as you go along your way
Still you may die spiritually poor
You can’t take those toys with you when you past through that door
Verse 3
It’s not what you have, it’s what you leave behind
Real wealth is having peace of mind
We all lie alone when lowered into the grave
You should give away your money rather being its slave
If you nourish your body while starving your soul
You may not have one to go on when you corpse is lying cold
Verse 4
This has all been said a thousand of time before
But I will repeat it just once more
You may believe you are the exception to the rule
But you are just shallow, excuse me if that’s cruel
Your possessions own you, you don’t own a thing
In the theater of life you are the puppet on a string
Verse 5
It’s not what you get, it’s what you give
It’s not what you own, it’s how you live
It’s not how you shout, it’s how you sing
It’s not what you take, it’s what you bring
It’s not what you have, it’s what you leave behind
Real wealth is having peace of mind
